Dr. Burnett is a native of Santa Barbara, CA. He graduated with honors with a degree in molecular biology from the University of California, San Diego where he was an undergraduate research scholar. Dr. Burnett subsequently attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. During medical school, he spent a year conducting clinical research in cutaneous oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Upon graduation from Mount Sinai with a distiction in research, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After completing an internship in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY, he went on to the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for his dermatology training where he served as the Chief Resident during his final year.
Dr. Burnett has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national, regional, and local academic meetings.

Dr. Burnett is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
